STS High School welcomes exchange students from all over the world who would like to come to your country. Our students arrive in the beginning of January or in mid-August. Students stay for a school year or a school semester. The summer students arrive at the end of June and stay for five weeks’ family life. These teenagers come here to experience something new, get to know our culture and traditions, go to our school (except the summer students) and to learn our language.

All students will be staying with a native host family during their stay in your country. Becoming a host family means that you will be part of a unique experience and you will most likely look upon your own existence with new eyes. Your family will provide the sense of security in addition to being a firm hand to a teenager far from home.

There is no typical host family but something they all have in common is providing room and board for free in addition to warmth and friendship. STS arranges a suitable school place for the student and a contact person for both the host family and the student. The contact person, the area representative, lives in your area. He/she will support you and your student and help you solve potential problems.

You have the possibility of choosing which student will be staying in your home. You also choose whether you would like to have a student for six months or for a full school year. You can always begin with six months and then prolong the stay to a full year.

Becoming a host family is a very good way of preparing yourself for a school year abroad, or it may be an alternative to going abroad.
