STS offers the exciting chance to learn mandarin in Beijing . This unique opportunity will allow your students to learn basic Mandarin which will give them the confidence to cope with different practical situations in such a diverse country as China . Your students will learn the core intrinsic aspects of the language which will facilitate basic grounding in Mandarin.

Active teaching programs includes below:

- 3 classes (45min per class) per day on weekdays (39 classes in total) for basic skill including pronunciation, basic phrases & sentences and simple characters, with role play to reinforce the knowledge of different occasions

- Homework of interviewing locals enhances the communications with the language

- Teachers are Chinese teacher(s) who is/are certified to teach English speaking students mandarin.

The students will be staying in in a school campus in Beijing , where playground, classroom, dormitory,convenience store are all within. The campus has good security system. A variety of afternoon and evening activities are arranged and a local coordinator will be in place everyday so students do not tend to go out very often and if they have to/want to they are well assisted.

The rooms are 2 beds in each dormitory, with independent bathroom and air-conditioner.

An activity room will be in place for evening time where Chinese movies in English is shown, on free night, there will be DVDs and books for students to watch and read.

Includeded excursions/activities
- Full day sightseeing of the city highlights including Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, old town with local family visiting, Shishahai Lake

- 3 afternoon excursions to:
Lhama Temple,
Yashow shopping market
Peking and Tsinghua University
- Kongfu Show

STS Explorer Pass
- Overnight camp/ hike on the Chinese Great Wall
- Weekend excursion to Olympic Center (or Olympic center models if the Center is not open for public), rural life exploration and overnight stay in village
- Friday night excursion to countryside barbecuing and camp
- Half day excursion: boating in Summer Palace
