About Malta
The capital Valletta is surrounded by a stone wall, that reminds us of ancient wars. Phoenicians (1000 BC), Carthages (400 BC), Romans (218 BC) and Arabs (AD 870) and others have in turn taken this little island and wanted to make it theirs.
With its strategic position it was interesting in order to control the trade in the Mediterranean.
Maltese is a mixture of Arabic and Italian, but English is also spoken as an official language here. 98 % of the population is Catholic.
After spending time on Malta , your students will have discovered most of this fantastic little island. The Maltese people's warmth, makes you feel at home at once.
