Joka vuosi nuoria ymp\u00e4ri maailmaa l\u00e4htee vaihtoon STS:n kautta. He ovat saapuneet vaihtomaahansa oppimaan sen kulttuurista ja kielest\u00e4 sek\u00e4 monista muista asioista. Ehk\u00e4 he ovat kuunnelleet paljon kohdemaansa musiikkia tai tutustuneet sen urheilijoihin, tai sitten he ovat vain uteliaita ja kiinnostuneita n\u00e4kem\u00e4\u00e4n millaiselta el\u00e4m\u00e4 siell\u00e4 n\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4.
