Language Travel – the way you want it!

At STS, we have been organising trips for young people since 1958 and since then over 1,200,000 young people have discovered the world – and themselves – on our programmes. Every year we review our product range and ask our students what they want to experience the most. In this way, we make sure to keep our portfolio up to date with destinations and experiences that are right for you and that fulfil the dreams and goals that you as a young person have. This year we have adapted the range to your wishes for greater flexibility when it comes to the choice of transport, length of trip and activities, that also protect the environment – something we think is fantastic!

Travelling with STS

To make the most of your time abroad, we have carefully selected a mix of activities, lessons, free time, and excursions every day during your trip. When traveling with STS, all regular activities and in most cases all meals, are included but you are responsible for the trip to and from your destination. Transfers to and from the airport are provided by your leaders, as long as you arrive at the specified airport between the specified times. If you want assistance to book your flights or other transport tickets, we have a partner travel agent to help you find the best and most affordable option.

What are the language lessons like?
It definitely will not feel like your regular school lessons at home – our teachers will take into account that you are in a country where the language is spoken. There will be a variation of group exercises and supervised activities, all together with your new friends from all over the world. Your homework might, for instance, be to tell your classmates about the dinner you and your host family had last night.
Can I stay with my friend?
We place friends and siblings who want to live in the same host family together as far as possible. The same applies to resort and campus accommodation, as far as possible according to the conditions at the destination. However, it is very important that you let us know about this well in advance, preferably when you book your trip.

Please note that friends and siblings of different genders cannot stay together and on some campuses only single rooms are available. In such cases, we place friends and siblings as close to each other as possible.

Can I go on a language trip if I have a medical condition or allergy?
We do anything in our power for everyone to be able to go on the trip of their dreams. It is therefore important that you inform us if you have any illnesses, allergies or disabilities. With this information in mind we can find a solution that suits you the best. We have host families that have experience when it comes to diabetes and allergies etc. and who are well informed when it comes to medication, nutrition and the ways of living.

How much will I learn?
Since you are surrounded by the language everywhere you go – at home, in school and during your spare time, you will benefit from every minute. The things you learn in the class room is just one part of the education. You will also learn a lot when you practice the language after classes, when you spend time with your host family, when you go shopping or when buying ice-cream.
