“I’ve learnt so much”

"I lived as an exchange student in Austria for a year, just outside of Vienna. STS found the perfect host family for me, and I stayed with them for the entire time. Together we had a lot of fun, and because of them I was able to have a wonderful time. I loved Vienna, and a day doesn't go by when I'm not reminded of my time there somehow. Not only did I have a great time, I also learned to speak German fairly well, and can still speak it with some amount of fluency. Overall, without hyperbole, this could have been the best year of my life so far."

“The best year of my life"”

"Hello, I'm currently living the best year of my life.
I came here 5 months ago and I really love Vienna. I met some amazing people, friends, a new amazing family, and my hostsister that has become like a real sister to me! It's an experience that has been changing my life, and will still do it, so I'll remember it forever! STS is amazing, they're lovely and put so much passion and heart in their job. I'm really thankful to them and to my family of course that always has my back. If you're a student who's looking for an amazing year full of new emotions and friends, then choose a country and STS!

"I lived in Austria from September 2015 - July 2016. It was a great year with lots of experiences, impressions of a new culture and new people, and just a great year to remember. Today I study the German language and I can't be thankful enough for what I have learned in Austria. The workers of the organization are great people and some of them even feel like family members! "I spent 11 months in Austria in 2015 and it was the best year of my life! I had a few problems with families but the amazing Area Reps and support system helped me through. The Vienna, Ski and Christmas weekends/ outings were awesome and I got the chance to make friends from all around the world. I made friendships will last a lifetime and I have a "forever family" in another country. Although I live in Australia, a massive piece of my heart will always be in Austria. ❤️ ❤️ "

She made sure he was well looked after and went out of her way to find him a cello he could play while on exchange. We continue to consider Katrin as a personal friend. She runs a well organized and caring exchange program."
