Step by step – to become a host family

Fill in a notification of interest – it is in no way binding! - We will contact you
We will contact you, explain more about how it works to be a host family, answer your questions, and conduct a brief interview. We will then match you with some of our students, based on your interests and preferences. You will receive information about our students and have the chance to choose which one you would like to host. - Home visit
When you have chosen a student, your local representative will come to your home to tell you more about being a host family, and of course, you will have the opportunity to ask about exchange students and what it’s like to be a host family. Your local representative is there for both the family and for the student throughout the entire period of exchange. - Get to know your exchange student
Once you have chosen which student you would like to welcome, you will fill in a host family application and be connected with your student. When the application is approved, you will receive one another’s contact information and can begin getting to know each other before the exchange program starts. - Now the adventure begins
Now you can start preparing and begin to enjoy the exciting time you have ahead. STS will organize everything related to the student’s trip and the exchange in general, such as plane tickets, a place in school, and insurance.
