Now, he returns home, carrying cherished memories from a transformative exchange year in Illinois, USA.

Back in his hometown, Theo has practically grown up with a hockey stick in hand, dedicating himself to the Helsingborgs Hockey Club since he was little. This lifelong passion paved his path to the USA, a destination he intuitively knew was the right choice. A year later, not only did he clinch a silver trophy with his school team, but he also developed a newfound love for water polo, a sport he had never encountered before.

Theo felt like he stepped right into the American high school movies he had watched for years. The lively clubs, the packed stands at every game, and the warm, huge involvement from the school and the local community. And guess what? Sports became a great way to make new friends too!

Theo remembers, "On my first day, I stood in the crowd, not knowing anyone. But in no time, friendly faces came up to chat. 'Are you from Sweden?' they asked, genuinely interested to know more about me. It was a bit like stepping into a new world, so exciting and a little bit overwhelming too."
